Resumo

The study of cultural entrepreneurship still presents itself as a diffuse area with different interpretations. The use of the term “cultural entrepreneur” is somewhat controversial. For some, this has a negative character when associating culture with business. For others, however, it is possible to use it to describe artistic and cultural activities without any restrictions. This article used the context of cultural entrepreneurship to analyze the discourse of three entrepreneurs in the film industry in the city of Curitiba, Brazil. It was highlighted which management elements were pointed out by the interviewees when talking about their trajectories and actions, as well as common points related to the studies on cultural entrepreneurship in their speeches. The results showed a strong concern with financial viability, with an organizational structure for this financial viability and for its projects, and knowledge of the audiovisual market. In addition, the way in which the interviewees recognized or not their qualities related to management and entrepreneurship in their speeches was highlighted, revealing an entrepreneurial identity.
